Personal Trainer Spotlight: Stars of the Show

Imagine this…You're right smack dab in the middle of a pretty tough workout.

By "pretty tough" we're talking hands on knees and gasping for air like a fish out of water...While you thank the universe and all of its stars for each and every second of rest time in between sets.

At this point, you might be thinking to yourself:

    1. Why am I doing this?
    2. How am I going to make it through this workout?
You and me both, friend...You and me both.

But just when you feel like calling it quits, you receive some encouraging words from your personal trainer.

And now you're motivated to keep pushing through until the end of the workout.

Sometimes, having a personal trainer there to help push you can make all the difference in the world.

Especially on those tough workout days when you need a little bit of extra motivation just to make it through.

Here at GymWisely, our partners have some amazing trainers making a buzz in the fitness world.

So in this article, we just want to highlight a few of them and show a little love:

Jessica Falborn

Meet Jessica Falborn from Balance Gym in the Washington D.C. area.

Jessica's extensive background in health and fitness includes being a personal trainer, CrossFit coach, and entrepreneur.

She is passionate about helping others achieve their fitness goals and living a healthier but balanced life.

In 2019, Jessica became a nationally-qualified NPC figure competitor. She followed up that stellar performance in 2020 by placing second in her first national-level women's physique competition.

Be on the lookout in 2021 as Jessica goes for her pro card!

In her spare time, Jessica likes to travel...Or you might find her enjoying some relaxation time binging on true crime podcasts.

Make sure to check out Jessica's website, where she offers meal planning and workout services.

Akeira Gilbert

Say hello to Akeira Gilbert, an instructor at SLT in New York City.

When asked to describe The SLT workout (which stands for Strengthen, Lengthen and Tone), Akeira went with "burn-inducing and mentally challenging."

Her training style? Funny, intense and powerful.

As a personal trainer, Akeira believes challenging yourself and actively placing yourself in uncomfortable situations allows for the most growth.

Like Akeira says, "You can feel sore tomorrow or you can feel sorry tomorrow!"

If she's not in the studio helping clients get the most out of their workouts, you'll probably find Akeira working in social impact or mountain climbing.

Mackenzie Pretty

Looking for a challenging, athletic, and fun workout class to the tune of artists like Eminem, Stevie Wonder, or Biggie playing in the background?

A cycling class with Mackenzie Pretty at JoyRide Cyling + Fitness might be just the one for you! She's currently an instructor at their Westport and Darien, Connecticut locations.

And if you're feeling a little sore after one of Mackenzie's classes, she's got your back...Lucky for you, her gym bag is full of goodies.

Interestingly enough, she carries a lacrosse ball in her gym bag to roll out sore muscles.

Outside of the studio, Mackenzie is a high school girls' soccer coach and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Wrapping Things Up

There are TONS of personal trainers and instructors out there who go above and beyond to help clients reach their fitness goals.

We just wanted to give a little shine to a few of them.

But to all the trainers out there bringing the energy every single workout and helping us get through them all (sometimes, barely), we see you! And we appreciate you!
